I work in Multi-Dimensional Metrics (MDM) Query team (also known as Geneva Metrics) within the Cloud/AI org here at Microsoft. My main focus is to perform tasks such as bugs, optimizations, implementing new features, and developing new pipelines.

I was asked back to Collins Aerospace as a returning SWE intern by my hiring manager from last summer to work with the same team on similar projects based off of my performance from last summer's internship. I was responsible for creating programs that will verify correctness, automate and optimize otherwise manual tasks, and sort information. I also worked on the hardware side of things by loading scripts into hardware components, testing and observing their responses, and the timing of specific devices in regard to specific tasks using a variety of tools.

The professor I was a TA for last semester, Introduction to Engineering Computing, recommended me to the professor of this class. Shortly after, he reached out to me and offered me a position as one of his TA's for the Spring 2021 semester. For this class, I was responsible for grading homework, holding office hours, attending meetings, and working with the professors and the three other TA's to create and evaluate each homework, along with the next week's lecture material/examples.

I took this class my freshman year, and the professor I had when I took this class reached out to me and offered me a position as a TA for the Fall 2020 semester. As a TA, I attended a live lecture over Zoom twice a week to assist students with the daily in-class assignments in my own breakout room during each lecture. I also held office hours each week throughout the semester where students could ask me questions over their homework, any in-class assignments, or general course questions. In addition, I was also responsible for grading a set number of student’s homework.

During my time interning, I learned lots of new and exciting things. I worked in the Commercial Aviation unit on the Data Link Products team focusing on the ARINC429 data bus. Throughout my internship, I created multiple programs in Python and Perl, tested the efficiency and success of each program with our products in our lab, and put together a final presentation to show off my work to my manager and the teams within Data Link. By the end of the internship I successfully created an extremely useful production tool for the Data Link teams backed with extensive lab testing and research.Towards the end of the internship I met with my hiring manager and was offered a returning software engineering internship for the summer of 2021.
