I am a junior designer within the structural engineering studio of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill's Chicago office, where it is my goal to help advance the firm's history of molding urban landscapes into the future by continuing our heritage of creating architecture through the expression of structural forms while taking new and novel approaches to analyzing topology, form, and function.My professional interests are centered around the integration of statistical data and processes into traditional approaches of structural engineering, including the study of probabilistic loads, stochastic process-based structural reliability, and risk informed performance based design, with specific interest in wind loading and its consequences on the behavior of tall buildings.I am an alumnus of both the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and the University of Tennessee, but while I respect Illinois' long history of structural engineering greats before me, anytime the two meet in the arena of athletic competition I'll be pulling for the Vols. My sincerest apologies to my fellow Illini, but I was born and raised in Big Orange Country, and there are some things you just can't change.
