Profile bio

About Luke Evans

I work on water and climate change issues. Specifically related to policy, communications, and cultural/social equity and justice. The Great Lakes comprise about 20% of the Earth's surface freshwater. I am interested in pursuing policy and management changes that will ensure the protection and restoration of these lakes and their watersheds. Even in one of the most water-rich regions on earth water equity and injustices prevail while corporate and commercial interests are prioritized at the expense of the most vulnerable. This includes addressing long-term climate disruptions to aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems.I believe climate change is the defining situation of our time. I am hopeful that we can overcome this crisis through policy, action, and adaptation - building a cleaner, ecologically friendly society. We must empower those most vulnerable and marginalized to take action and lead us into a sustainable future. I am interested in advancing initiatives to address the threat of climate change at the local, national, and international levels.

Listed skills include Conservation Issues, Grants, Program Management, Environmental Education, and 14 others.
