I lectured in Graphic Design at Cape College at NSC, N4, N5 and N6 levels. Subjects covered were: drawing, layout, design & computer design (Photoshop + Freehand). The College offered a full range of art streams, including jewelery, ceramics, painting and printing. The courses offered were very practical with an aim to send students out into the workplace with skills that would make them immediately employable.

I worked for Felix Unite River Adventures as a guide on various rivers such as: the Orange, Tugela, Breede and Doring Rivers. My job descriptions were: trip leader, kayak safety officer, raft guide and canoe guide. This was dependent on the river and tour type. Different craft were used on certain rivers. Trip leading is a 24/7 job, where one is responsible for the safety of the group (typically 10-30 guests), plus catering, educating and entertaining the group.
