An avid traveler since childhood, I spend much of my time traveling to hear my favorite musicians play & sing in person. This has been very healing, keeping me healthy & fit in body, mind & spirit as a community-based counselor for many years often exposed me to extreme attitudes & negative behaviors (which can take their toll if not channeled into more positive & diverse activities).Attending concerts locally & internationally has become part of my wellness routine and I have long preached the psychological benefits of music therapy and the importance of preventing BURN OUT by physically separating yourself from your work on a regular basis. I am happy to now be balancing the use of my counseling skills & experience with my interest in helping families in transition & am starting my own Consulting business with seminars, trainings & family sessions for parents & family members who are struggling with specific issues like: communication, relationships, health issues, educational, psychological or behavioral issues & could be child-focused or family-focused, and would be relevant to families with adult children as well as families of younger children.I am also a Referring Online Travel Agent with the YTB Network and am please to be raising funds for the music & travel focused charity LOVEhopeSTRENGTH.org which will host a CHALLENGE TREK to the mountains of PERU for a once-in-a-lifetime chance to climb & camp along the famous INCA TRAIL with int'l musicians & cancer/leukemia survivors & supporters. The trek takes place in Oct, 2008 & features an acoustic concert @ MACHU PICHU and a full rock concert in LIMA, PERU. I am currently raising funds as an official PERU ROCKS!
