Research scientist and software developer passionate about putting software and technology to work to support, improve and accelerate scientific research within the biology domain.With a background in biochemistry and bioinformatics and more than 20 years working at the intersection between data management and IT, I have a strong track record in software development as applied to research data management.My focus is on helping research based organisations handle their research data responsibly to maximise its usefulness and value. I have hands-on experience with every step in designing and developing research data management solutions, from architecture and data modelling through to coding, deployment, test, customization and end-user training.I have most recently spent four years working with a start-up, and consider these years some of the funniest, most rewarding and meaningful of my career.
