I am thrilled to have completed my Master’s Degree in Applied Physics at the University of Massachusetts, Boston. In my time as an undergraduate and graduate student, I did research in Quantum Optics and Soft Matter.I have designed, built, and characterized high-speed, low-noise balanced photo detectors, as well as written corresponding software to interface these devices with computers, using Python and Mathematica. I also have experience with Verrilog, which I have used to develop anti-coincidence detection schemes on an FPGA.In my current research, I explore the use of the unique properties of liquid crystals for directed self-assembly of nanoparticles, a process which has wide applications in nanofabrication, as well as in optics- the properties that make liquid crystals good for nanofabrication also have applications in optics as well!Research experience aside, I thrive in environments where I can develop and work on impactful projects, and enjoy working in team environments. The opportunity to collaborate with others and allow different perspectives to reshape a project or idea lies at the core of science, and something I am very passionate about. My academic experiences and achievements as well as my fanatical appreciation for all things science are strengths that I am excited to bring to a future organization.
