As an undergraduate chemistry student, I have been able to acquire experience in a variety of fields of chemistry. During the summer of 2021, I was a fulltime intern in an organic chemistry laboratory on campus at UNCW where my research surrounded around ring closing reactions of indoles. In the fall semester of 2021, I committed 6 hours a week to a marine chemistry laboratory involving research of arsenic composition in local rivers. This coming spring semester in 2022, I will be spending a minimum of 3 hours a week in a physical chemistry laboratory. I am skilled in analytical methods including Hydrogen and Carbon NMR, Gas Chromatography, High Performance Liquid Chromatography, Mass Spectroscopy, and UV-Vis Spectroscopy. While completing my chemistry degree, I have maintained several positions at the UNCW recreation center as challenge course facilitator, program assistant, and climbing wall attendant. These positions have assisted me in building leadership, organizational, and intrapersonal skills.
