As a tutor at AJ Tutoring, I mostly worked with students one-on-one in a variety of subjects. I primarily tutored English, Math, and test prep (SAT, ISEE, etcetera) with students ranging from 4th graders to college freshmen.In addition to the one-on-one lessons, I performed a variety of logistical tasks, including logging data about students' sessions and plans, communicating with parents of current or prospective students, and managing my own schedule. Finally, I occasionally taught larger classes of up to 30 students.

I tutored all sorts of students, ranging from 2nd grade all the way to college, in various subjects. My most common subject was math, but I also helped some younger students with reading and writing, and I had a few college students taking beginner or intermediate computer science courses.

Austin

I worked on the Austin team for the newly-acquired “CMO” product. At the start of the team’s formation, I helped research the product’s design and code base, as well as participating in planning and design for future development. Later, I executed those plans by developing features and fixing bugs in C# and HTML5, and writing and executing test cases. I also gained proficiency in various tools such as Jira, Git, Appscan, Checkmarx, and Sonar.

I tutored high school students in the SAT and ACT, teaching not only test material and specific knowledge, but also test-taking strategies and long-term study goals. My methods were very effective, and my students reported significant score improvements!

Waco, Texas Area

As a tutor at the Paul L. Foster Success Center, I helped fellow Baylor students with their courses. I tutored a wide variety of subjects, but probably 90% of my students needed help in Pre-Cal, Cal 1, or Cal 2. The tutoring environment was an open room where students could drop in with no appointment, with a number of tutors floating between them. Generally I tutored between one and three students at a time (each individually), but I occasionally had to tutor groups together, or as many as 6 individuals! The last year or so of my employment, I accumulated more responsibilities--delegating and "managing" the other tutors so the whole operation remained smooth, and training up new tutors--though my job title didn't officially change.
