I am a recent graduate of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, with a Ph.D. in Earth and Environmental Sciences.I am passionate about intersectional research that uses chemistry to understand our planet (past/present/future) and has implications for improving the lives of people across the world, leveraging hypothesis-driven science to address current-day problems. I am motivated to educate others about Earth's dynamic climate history, drivers of climate variation pre-dating humanity, our planet's resilience, the implications of our actions, and the myriad reasons why I maintain optimism about Earth's climate future. I use paleoclimate data to demonstrate how human behavior (i.e., deforestation, fossil fuel burning, and urbanization) has impacted Earth's climate trajectory, and like to communicate actionable ways the non-scientific community (individuals, governments, and corporations) can be involved in building a more resilient society and righting our course.I have experience writing proposals and securing grants, coordinating large teams for collaborative research projects, working aboard research vessels as a seafloor surveyor and as a wet lab chemist, and teaching at both the high school level and at the undergraduate level.
