I spent four weeks with SWEAT helping to draft health and safety and labor regulation laws with the goal of decriminalizing Sex Work in South Africa. I also attended community outreach and assisted with workshops to provide education on resources and solicit feedback on decriminalization work.

As a Systems and Materials consultant, I worked closely with our customers and their products to create reports based on our equipment performances. Through the use of our on site testing lab I was able to analyze this information and use this information in sales, marketing, and patent development.

As a research assistant, I aided in monitoring and measurement of greenhouse gas emission of soil plots. I assisted in collecting field samples from designated plots of planted corn to test greenhouse gas emissions based on soil quality by following detailed lab sampling procedures.

Under the direction of Dr. Kevin Roe and Eric Moody, I collaborated with other undergraduates to understand the morphological and genetic distinction of endangered desert fish populations.This included the preparation of PCR gel electrophoresis with microsatellite samples of individual species to determine genetic differences in Gambusia fish populations to analyze qualitative and quantitative measurements of morphological characteristics for desert fish specimens to determine species variation.

I tutored up to four groups of 2-5 students twice a week in upper level biology and chemistry classes.

As a research assistant, I aided in researching management strategies for invasive sea lamprey in the Great Lakes.

I aided in conducting field work; including collecting water samples, flow meter data, and dissolved oxygen levels, to assess the health of Lake Superior and surrounding areas.
