I am a Vietnam Era US Navy veteran. I served 8-1/2 years in the US Navy (forward deployed for the first 4), then attended National University in San Diego studying Computer Science. I was employed as a Software Designer/Engineer at a number of technology companies in Southern California performing work ranging from embedded systems to User Interface software on Windows products. I earned an M.A. and Ph.D in history from the University of California, specializing in Modern Latin America with teaching fields Early Modern World and Nineteenth Century US. I have taught at the University of California, California State University, and Community Colleges in the San Diego area. I retired from the California State University in 2012 and currently teach part time at San Diego Mesa College. I earned a Master of Divinity degree from Bethel Seminary San Diego. I am actively engaged in outreach to veterans, the homeless, and those struggling with addiction/recovery through Misfits Ministries.I am seeking part-time flexible contract work suitable to my skill set. I am available 20-30 hours per week and require some scheduling flexibility due to teaching schedule.I live in semi-retirement within walking distance of the Pacific Ocean and am an avid surfer.
