Responsibilities include: Travel (international and domestic), scheduling, expense management, filing, management of administrative staff. I prepared month-end departmental expense statements. Liaising with executive and ministerial offices to coordinate dates, times, locations, and organization of meeting material and events. Maintain an awareness of issues under discussion and use discretion in receiving and handling incoming calls or correspondence by responding in person or referring matters to the attention of senior management. I'm was the keeper of all confidential files and participated in the preparation of documents related to a variety of matters including legal documents, human resources, labour relations issues, patient complaints, contracts, and risk management items.My last 10 months Island Health I was the the Executive Assistant to the Island Health Board of Directors. Supporting all Board and executive travel, accommodation and venues. The administrative part of my job was working with our Board Liaison to create the agendas, distribute all board packages and material, help in facilitating community engagement sessions, scouting of locations and new venues. I attended all board meetings to ensure accuracy in minutes and follow up items as well as to make sure everything ran smoothly. Working with a diverse group of board members was an amazing and fulfilling opportunity, and their passion for what they do reminded me why I love what I do!!
