I joined Celerity’s Professional Services team in 2005, primarily to focus on the IBM System x brand in a technical support and consultancy role. This role naturally led me to specialise in server virtualisation and quickly gained my first VMware VCP certification in December 2005, followed by considerable hands on experience of designing, implementing and supporting virtual environments.I have a comprehensive working knowledge of the IBM System Storage portfolio and SAN technologies and more recently, have been involved in a number of storage virtualisation projects.My day to day role can range from the initial customer engagement, solutions design and architecture, on-site installations through to post-installation support.Recent activities include:Working with an automotive customer in Scotland to design, architect and implement virtualised systems and storage across multiple sites, to provide increased levels of resilience and business continuity.Design and implement a highly available, multi-site, virtualised server and storage environment based on IBM BladeCenter, IBM System Storage and VMware vSphere 5 technologies. The solution design included comprehensive backup and disaster recovery functionality.Consultancy for a project involving storage migration to a virtualised platform and server virtualisation upgrade.
