Sutton Cox is an innovative architectural practice providing a comprehensive range of professional services primarily in the education and care sectors, complemented by an established track record in residential and commercial areas.The practice is based in Cheltenham and is led by highly regarded and long-established RIBA Chartered Architects, Malcolm Sutton and Charles Cox.Having worked together for over 20 years as directors of Heath Avery Architects and, most recently, Gloucester-based Integrated Architecture, the new practice was formed in January 2019 to coincide with their return to Cheltenham.

Last February, Heath Avery Architects merged with Astam, a multi-disciplinary company based in Gloucester. The resulting practice is a thriving Architecture led, multi-disciplinary practice called Integrated Architecture, of which I am now a Director.My skills as a dual qualified Technician and Architect fit perfectly with the new company ethos of delivering high quality design, with supporting cost, structural and M&E consultancy , along with Health and Safety and Conservation specialisms when needed. The multi-discipline offering also has a natural fit with BiM, giving us the edge on collaborative, process-driven project delivery, and my B.R.E. acquired skills in this burgeoning area of construction naturally lend themselves to promoting this procurement method and the new business side-by-side.My passion lies with inter-discipline design collaboration and I am now finding new opportunities to promote and practice this way of working either within or outside of the BiM framework. For those Clients that aren’t familiar with it, I can now offer many of the benefits of BiM as a natural and integral part of our design and procurement service, which promises a co-ordinated architectural, structural and services design for every client.Its an exciting future.

Architect, Technical Director and Financial Director.I am a dual qualified Architect and construction technologist with excellent skills in both disciplines and over 25 years of post qualification experience in Design, space planning, master planning, Project Management, building construction, environmental analysis and design, construction management, technical information packages, construction advice, construction contract administration and building defects management.With my two co-directors, we have built up a small niche Practice with an excellent portfolio of blue chip, public and private sector Clients, supported by a skilled, driven team of technologists. The practice can deliver well designed, functional, cost conscious, well constructed projects up to a value of circa £15m As Technical Director I have enabled the Practice to build up an excellent reputation for practical, current, construction expertise; bringing added value to all of our projects and our relationships with Clients and Contractors alike.I am also now a qualified BIM Professional having sat the examinations and acquired the status of Accredited Professional from the BIM Academy at the Building Research Establishment in Watford. I am looking forward to leading the practice in this exciting field of Construction, and using my skills to confidently deliver BIM capabilities which many enlightened clients now encourage and require.
