Townscape Heritage Initiative (Thi) Project Officer
Manage and deliver the implementation of the Derby Townscape Heritage Initiative (THI) under the overall direction of Derby City Council and Heritage Lottery Fund.• Historical research and analysis of existing information;• Property market analysis and contribution to the production of the subsequent map;• Condition surveys and production of building gazetteer;• Production of schedule of repairs as a result of condition surveys;• Production of prioritised list of target properties to be included with final report;• Development of costs identified at Stage 1.• Full support of the Conservation Architect ensuring all projects are completed to the highest possible standard and liaising with all relevant parties.As the Derby TH Project Officer in charge of overseeing the day-to-day running of the scheme and I have gained an in-depth knowledge of how the scheme is executed. My involvement liaising with all parties in the scheme success is evidenced in the complete allocation of the TH’s £1m funding. During the development phase, I was greatly involved in the planning of engagement opportunities and complementary activities for the project, as well as the drafting of the management plans which led to the successful application.I had also been involved in the Derby, Sleaford and Grantham PSiCAs schemes. The Derby PSiCAs is generally acknowledged as the best scheme in the UK and is the driving force behind Historic England being allocated £40M in the 2018 Budget for the development of High Streets.
Senior Architectural Designer
Designs new buildings, extensions and or alterations to existing buildings and advise on restoration and conservation of old properties. Working on individual buildings and on medium size redevelopment schemes, and also responsible for design of interior as well as surrounding landscape and spaces.Other responsibilities include Building surveys, planning applications, building regs specifications, 3D visualisations, building site inspections, and supervisions etc.- Leads team in planning work and developing solutions to technical and design detail problems.- Responsible for establishing, maintaining and adherence to project budget and schedule.- Supervises the preparation of technical drawings by other less senior level architects or professionals.- Prepares client presentations and presents design concepts and drawings.- Ensures that construction detail documentation conforms to Best Practice standards.- Incorporates Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projects.- Mentors and directs the work of less experienced staff, may participate in professional development; reviews and “Lessons Learned” sessions.- Fosters and maintains a collaborative professional working relationship with the Project Leadership Team.- Taking personal responsibility for fostering a green workplace through sustainable work practices.
Urban Design Consultant
Masterplans for Trent Basin Regeneration Project. A riverside neighbourhood of low energy homes and apartments located on the banks of the River Trent, Nottingham, overlooking an inland dock rich in history. The project when completed will provide a mix of contemporary, high quality, low energy homes. Some 350 houses and apartments are proposed across the whole development, comprising two, three and four-bedroom houses and apartments.

Working under the direct supervision of the architect, the works were very collaborative in nature. I helped plan and design buildings along with a team of architects. Brainstorming project ideas, complete design drawings in AutoCAD and Revit and assist in reviewing project proposals, remaining a part of the process from conception through development.Complete and file much of the paperwork that is involved in the design process, I created proposals and complete construction paperwork for buildings. In order to ensure that projects follow legal specifications and company procedures, I ensure all required documents and paperwork are submitted before the construction process is started.Maintaining communication with all parties involved in the project, I communicate with contractors to monitor the progress of a project, and sometimes responsible for communicating with clients as well, noting their requests, answering their questions and sending them project updates.In order to assist the Architects, I coordinated the details of an architectural project. This includes building specifications, dimensions, assisting with initial project research and outlining project schedules and tasks.
