Mamtha is a professional with 37 years of work experience across Corporate, Not For-Profits and Government. Currently, she is an independent consultant in the Citizenship area offering NGOs and corporates professional support. The corporate experience of 16 years encompassing industry sectors such as engineering, clothing, retail, small business enterprises, and biotechnology provided an opportunity to work with top industry leaders in India. The CSR experiences cover a range of target group such as children, youth, women and rural/urban population. Ten years as the head of IBM India South Asia Citizenship function, she established India South Asia program from the scratch to build a strong citizenship portfolio. The CSR initiatives were scaled up to position IBM as a thought leader in India particularly in the employee volunteering initiatives. The 6 years stint with the British High Commission provided exposure to international relations, policy development and trade relations. A rare opportunity to work with a Trust that helps underprivileged youth set up small businesses, a program modeled after the Princes Youth Business Trust ( founded by Prince Charles), provided exposure to the NGO world. The rich experience of working with leading NGOs (both Indian and international) , the Corporations to facilitate setting up 250 plus small businesses provided the foundation to develop skills in Citizenship space. Key skills include strategizing, planning, team building, relationship building, program management, media relations and networking. International exposure include travelling to 15 countries. Lived and worked in Thailand. Also one of 1000 IBM global top performers chosen under the CSR and leadership program called Corporate Service Corps to complete an assignment in Rio, Brazil for a month volunteering in an Not for Profit.
