I'm a Registered Patent Attorney engaged in crafting effective intellectual property (IP) protection strategies and helping clients navigate the complex landscape of IP law. My clients include universities, innovative startups, and established institutions. I collaborate with inventors, commercialization teams, in-house intellectual property counsel, and foreign patent attorneys on IP protection strategy, patent drafting, patent prosecution, IP licensing and transfer, and infringement, validity, and patentability analyses. I get to delve into various technology areas, such as small molecule, nucleotide, and polypeptide compositions, drug delivery systems, screening and imaging systems, and methods for treating conditions ranging from cancers to neurodegenerative disorders. In a world where innovation and law intersect, I help clients protect their IP and navigate the exciting journey of creativity and discovery. My career in intellectual property was inspired by my early exposure to scientific research and the world of intellectual property protection. This fusion of science and law has been the driving force behind my commitment to this field.I'm dedicated to making a positive impact within the IP community and my local community. I actively participate in organizations such as AUTM, AIPLA, KBA-IP Law Section, and KYIPA. Locally, I've been part of the Legal Aid Society's Annual Campaign Committee since 2005, served Saint Agnes Community and Saint Agnes School, and served non-profits like Crane House, Dress for Success Louisville, and the Junior League of Louisville.I was named one of the Global Top 250 Women in IP, an IP Star by Managing Intellectual Property, and received an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell. I'm listed in Chambers USA, recognized as one of the Best Lawyers in America, and honored by Business First of Louisville. Within Stites & Harbison, I've taken on leadership roles, including serving on the Management Committee and chairing the Diversity and Inclusion Task Force.I live in Louisville with my husband and our children. I'm an avid reader of fiction and nonfiction, a frequent podcast listener, and enjoy traveling to new places.
