Windows Universal Store (Ads R&D)- Lead a team of two and Implemented CPC (Cost per click) campaign model (Moving away from CPM, that is paying and charging per impression). Based on the conversion rate of the campaign, we tune the cost we charge per click, and therefore are able to control the cost per acquisition. - Community Ads : This is a free ad campaigning program where the developers show ad from other developers and receive credits. These credits can then be used by them to create their own ad campaigns which will shows ads to the community. I worked on the analytics part of community where we calculate credits received and spent by the developers and generate a daily stream.- Ad Click Prediction model(logistic regression) to get probability of click per Third Party Ad Network (TPAN), so that we can arrange the TPAN in the ad waterfall to get maximum ROI for an Ad.- Campaign testing and experimentation to improve advertiser ROI : Reponsible for managing hand held campaigns (tracking and modifying) for premium customers, helping them with custom changes, which usually involve quick scripts/app building to assist them in scale.- Analytics for fraud detection: Started a project for ad fraud detection and ran it single handedly for 3 months before moving it to an overseas team. I was responsible for bringing up top revenue generating app with suspicious activity (too many adds in a few seconds, too many clicks, occluded ad divs) and sending them for manual scrutiny.

Microsoft Dynamics CRM- Designed Microsoft Dynamics Marketing Lead generation module- Designed and led AppModule team (packaging modules of CRM into small combinations for SMBs to be able to pick and choose the modules they need)- Led the UX team for "Mars" project which is an interactive help tool on CRM. Picked up a very crude UX code and convinced the leadership to let our team fix it and get it modularized. This effort was eventually successful and made later code changes smooth and was the main reason we could add themes to it later.- Handled UX for the project called MARS(CRM Runtime Help). Collaborated with the UX designer to understand as well as implement the UX. Led a team of 5 while doing this. • Collaborated with the test team and fixed a large amount of UX bugs. • Was in constant contact with the UX designer, understood her requirements as well as demonstrated the current behaviors, provided feedback to the UX designer, which was incorporated and therefore helped improve User Experience. • Proposed a refactor for the CSS structure for MARS (CRM Runtime Help) which involved separating the CSS entirely from the code and making the image sources dynamic, which was accepted. This refactor, even though took 10-12 days of time, significantly reduced a lot of overheads in the future. With the new design the need for republishing each artefact was eliminated. This also later helped in theming of the product. - Collaborated with PMs in Copenhagen to understand the specifications of Customer Lifecycle Management and Lead management. Also, worked on the design for both the project. Even though the projects were scraped later, I learned a lot from it.

Advanced Web Engine : Multimedia team. Porting of blink on Tizen Platform.Development of webrtc on open source chromium code for Unix based Tizen Mobile Platform using gstreamer. Chromium, is a C++ based browser project whose code we leveraged to bring a feature called webRTC on Samsung Browser for Tizen. WebRTC provides browsers/applications with real time communication capabilities. I worked on building video chat capability on the Samsung Browser using h264 encoding on gstreamer. We built a producer consumer model where video frames are produced by the camera and then consumed by the gstreamer pipeline to encode the frame and send to the network. A similar model was used on the decoder end. I had an opportunity to design and build this project from scratch, learned how smallest of inefficiencies in the code can lead to high latency and cannot be taken for granted. All of this was achieved by heavy use of parallelization in C++.
Software Engineer-Firmware
Product ParCon : Partitioning subsystem for high reliability mission critical servers, Superdome. This is a heavily mutithreaded C codebase which would create virtual partitions by allocating cores and memory and hard partitions by allocating CPUs and disks. Straight out of college, I was responsible for triaging and debugging bugs and fix problems like memory leaks and crashes to ensure reliability of the server.
