As an intern at the University Writing Center, I was a member of a three-person team responsible for marketing the writing center and it's services throughout the JMU campus. Our responsibilities included group collaboration, marketing at various informational tables and university events, editing emails and promotional texts, creating web and print graphic design, and managing the center's web presence. I was able to utilize my passion and skills for writing and web design to redesign the center's website (www.jmu.edu/uwc). The original site was difficult to manage and navigate and lacked aesthetic appeal. This internship taught me how to properly communicate with my supervisors and fellow team members in order to complete weekly tasks. It also taught me proper project management skills from website structure conception until the complete website redesign launch.
