In this role, I worked with Baldwin Wallace's Digital Marketing Clinic (DMC). The DMC is an experiential learning program for BW students interested in digital media and marketing and matches teams of students with small, local businesses, startups, and non-profit organizations. The client and student team collaborate to deliver and develop media plans and utilize media strategies like social media marketing, organic social media, website development, management, and more. This semester I worked with Cavanaugh Photography, a local photography company specializing in family, school, and senior pictures. In this role, I updated the client’s social media across all platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter. I developed and published webpage copy and marketing content for the newly constructed website. In addition, I collaborated with team members in website reconstruction through Squarespace.

Through Baldwin Wallace University's Digital Marketing Clinic, I worked with the Cleveland Leadership Center (CLC). My fellow interns and I were tasked with promoting the CLC's yearly pitch competition. The CLC's pitch competition is an event that gives individuals across Northeast Ohio a chance to win seed money to help launch their idea to make Cleveland a better place to live. Together we created and implemented a social media plan to increase the company’s digital and social media presence. We successfully employed various digital marketing tactics, including content marketing, email marketing, social media marketing, and business blogging. Through blog posts written and published on WordPress and the creation of organic content, social media posts, and stories through Canva, the team increased consumer outreach. The content was posted on Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook. These posts effectively increased the Facebook audience reach by 278.2%.

As the Research and Outreach Intern for 2nd Act, I collaborated with my supervisor(s) to craft Federal Grant Proposals, applications, and press releases. In addition, I updated the organization-wide credentials and donor databases due to 2nd Act merging with another organization. While developing strong, collaborative relationships with supervisors and fellow interns, I also learned valuable organization and time management skills. Finally, I collaborated with my fellow interns and supervisors to develop a social media fundraising campaign geared towards raising $10k in 10 days to aid in the merging of Improbable Players and Creating Outreach About Addiction Support Together (COAAST).

This internship was one of two I took this Summer to enhance my experience and skills with Marketing, business, and communication. COMCorps is a service organization where members work together for 11 months in Athens, Ohio, to create and support social and physical environments. Major focuses of the program include food insecurity, nutrition education, and emotional support for individuals living with chronic stress. As the digital marketing intern, I had to create social media posts, particularly through Canva, to enhance the organization's social media presence through content creation. Instagram, Facebook, and online recruiting websites were the main online platforms used. I collaborated with my supervisor and other COMCorps staff to research consumer behavior, craft press releases, and develop strategic outreach and consumer engagement plans for future recruits. Finally, I was given a chance to craft and implement search engine optimization and Google ads to increase consumer outreach.

As a waitress, I serve the Shoreby members while developing strong working relationships with members, colleagues, and upper-level management. This job also requires flexibility, patience, and balance. Sometimes the number of members needing service can be overwhelming, but this allows me to practice my flexibility and delegating skills. As a waitress, I have also built strong time management skills and assisted with setting up and cleaning up for high-profile events, serving and accommodating over 250 guests. Being a server also requires discipline; whether it is following proper protocol or following through on a job, I am continually working on my execution of difficult tasks and making sure they are done exceptionally well.

During this job, I have had to supervise over 100 patrons in the pool and deck, while maintaing order and safety. I practiced safety protocols and communicated expectations with unsupervised minors and fellow colleagues.
