Within the mid-market segment, BMO Sponsor Finance's platform is unique for clients dealing on both sides of the border.The BMO Sponsor Finance group engages all relevant resources within BMO Financial Group in structuring the appropriate capital structures including Canadian and US Debt Capital Markets, Mid-Market M&A, Loan Underwriting & Syndications, Senior and Subordinated / Mezzanine Debt, Leasing, Asset Based Lending, Equity, Sponsor Fund Lending, Leveraged Lending and BMO Harris Sponsor Finance.

My main role was new deal origination by way of identifying profitable public but mostly private business prospects in diverse industry sectors (excluding the real estate and automotive industries) with complex financing requirements as well as transactions to existing portfolio clients. I originated and executed financing arrangements in the range of $20MM to $500MM, undertook complex legal negotiations and completed internal credit negotiations relative to the sale of financing products and services. Ideal customers generated $75MM-$1 Billion in revenues with deals encompassing leveraged transactions, private equity sponsored, public co.’s, junior corporate transactions and syndicated/club deals as both Lead & Participant Bank. Transaction structures included Cash-Flow Lending, Dividend Recaps, M&A, Leveraged Buy-Outs, expansions, in addition to financings for existing operations. In order to increase BMO’s profitability and market share, I also identified opportunities for Asset Based Lending, BMO Capital Partners (Subordinated Debt / Equity), Leasing, Cash Management, Private Banking, Treasury as well as coverage for I&CB Group and other BMO partners.

Also involved in Leverage Buyout (LBO), Management Buyout (MBO), Dividend Recapitalization, Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) and any other type of leveraged (Senior Debt) transactions.
