Primary function was reviewing worksheets that technicians had recorded laboratory data on. Data was reviewed in accordance with BATs, Methods, and cGMPs. Sought corrections from technicians when errors were discovered. Results were tracked using computer software and used for metrics. Other data reviewed included various logbooks and temperature charts. Some additional responsibilities included worksheet archival, compiling schedule adherence and Work-In-Progress reports, revising outdated worksheets, and completing shop-floor inspections. Also trained members of a newly formed Quality Assurance group and helped develop the workflow system that they would use to interact with the rest of the team.

Assumed a leadership role and was responsible for upholding quality standards throughout the plant, primarily in the aseptic room. Engaged in CIP/SIP functions and maintained SOPs and cGMPs. Performed hourly checks on bottled product to determine weight, brix, taste, cap tightness, and accuracy of information on bottles and cases. Performed routine pallet checks to confirm that completed pallets were packed properly and that they contained the correct information. Pallet checks also included the isolation of samples for use in the microbiology lab and for pH and volume tests. Performed routine titrations to determine sanitizer strength. Assisted in the compilation of the daily sanitation report. Each of these processes were documented.

Swabbed key areas on production machines to detect the presence of ATP. Checked dairy samples for butterfat, total solids, and freezing point. Checked non-dairy products for brix, bottle mouth diameter, and overall quality. I would also perform titrations to test sanitizer strength, make agar, and make an enzyme solution additive for ice cream products. Pipetted dairy and non-dairy samples onto petri dishes and coliform, aerobic, and yeast & mold count plates. Documentation included temperature checks from thermometers located throughout the lab, dairy and non-dairy analysis results, RLUs detected during swabbing, results from bottle measurements, results from titrations, records from throughout the autoclaving process, and readings from plated dairy/non-dairy samples (some of which were incubated). Followed company SOPs and maintained cGMPs.
