Dr. Aieta is an internationally known water treatment expert and has been involved in the design of over 50 water treatment plants and 160 pilot or demonstration studies. He has conducted numerous facilitations of decision-making workshops for selection among technical alternatives to meet regulatory, treatment optimization or capacity needs. He is often called upon to lead in the development of strategies for clients that provide cost effective solutions while assuring compliance with regulations and acceptance by the public. Dr. Aieta is a registered Professional Engineer in Colorado, Texas, New Jersey, and New York. In his role at MWH as Director of Engineering, he leads value engineering efforts and solving complex construction challenges for the companies projects. He served on the USEPA Drinking Water Advisory Council, the WRF Research Advisory Committee, the Water Reuse Research Council and numerous industry committees and work groups dealing with drinking water regulations and protection of public health. He was awarded the University of Cincinnati, College of Engineering, Distinguished Alumni Engineering Executive Award and was the 1996 Thomas R. Camp Lecturer, Boston Society of Civil Engineers. He is also a Diplomat in the American Academy of Environmental Engineers. He has published and presented numerous papers on a variety of topics related to public health, drinking water policy and treatment.
