I was awarded the opportunity to design a large component critical to sales process within big multi-national conglomerate.I became involved in delivering trainer-training, whereby we would give training to the client’s super users with the intent that they would then give training to the day-to-day users.After the end-to-end testing had completed, we performed the on-site implementation and go-live support for the complete ERP solution. I formed part of a small team, comprised of Microsoft Dynamics AX functional consultants, with the aim of providing detailed functional designs based on the provided Functional Requirements. I was one of 2 industrial engineers who were employed to do the project administration and help manage the Medupi Wage Bureau Project, as this was the largest project that the company had done to date.My key responsibility is to assist in establishing a Project Management Office department, with the purpose of instituting a central governing body over all projects within the company. Activities required included the documentation of current processes and implementing new processes to improve certification of work completed, resource scheduling, monthly invoicing, and project progress feedback.Key Activities:- Generate a weekly project progress feedback report on all areas of the project- Manage and update a project schedule- Administration of all required project deliverables- Generate a project invoice schedule for the project life-time every month, updated with actual invoices- Generate Completion Certificates for all work completed- Generate invoices per month based on Completion Certificates- Administration of a migration to a SharePoint and Office365 environment, including Chage Control and Training

I assisted as product development engineer in the design and building of a 3D printer as a research project at Stellenbosch University. The design of the 3D printer was adapted from an American design that suited the products available within South Africa. The aim of the project was to create a design that could make 3D printing accessible to the local market.My responsibility within the project was to coordinate a 2 person team to adapt the American-based design using parts that could be sourced locally, design and manufacture of major components, and final assembly. The major components had to be printed using a commercially bought 3D printer, I was tasked to create digital representations of the components needed and then to overview the production of said parts.Key Activities:- Cost vs Benefit analysis on different designs- Translation of design into South African standards- Production of all specialized parts through 3D printing- Acquiring all electronic and structural components that are not fabricated- Assembly

Quality Assurance is applied to physical products in pre-production to verify what will be made meets specifications and requirements, and during manufacturing production runs by validating lot samples meet specified quality controls.My primary responsibility was to inspect all of the parts produced during the previous 24hour shift, to ensure every part conforms to design specifications as determined by the client and 0% defectives delivered to the client. During my vacation work I participated as a software developer at the Industrial Engineering department at Stellenbosch University on a 3-dimensionsal micron gripper project. The project involve creating a C# Graphical User Interface for controlling a micron gripper that would be used a retrieve objects within 1000th of a cm. My role was to investigate possible methods that could be used to control the micron gripper, as well as full development and implementation of the software used.Key Activities:- Complete design and development of the GUI- Complete development of software and hardware interface- Testing and documentation of design and development process

During my vacation work I participated as a software developer at the Industrial Engineering department at Stellenbosch University on the Motoman Control project. The Motoman Robot was controlled through the use a web-based framework using force sensors to control individual components.
