I have worked on issues involving linking science, policy and practice for nearly 45 years as an advocate, a practitioner, a policymaker, a teacher and as a researcher. I am particularly interested in how people organize and respond to pressing social and environmental problems through organizations and institutions. Over that time, I've worked on issues ranging from voting rights to health system reform to integration, climate policy and Arctic change. Outside of work I paddle a sea kayak, hike, run, love music, and am a husband and a father of two great adult kids.
