Managed development of the Radioactive Waste Acceptance Criteria Oracle Web application, allowing for streamlined management of waste profiles. Directed, organized, and conducted audits and surveillances of waste generator programs throughout DOE Complex to verify compliance with applicable waste acceptance criteria, DOE, Department of Transportation (DOT), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), state, and local regulations. Responsible for providing assistance to the Environmental Engineering Technology programs at the university. Areas of emphasis included environmental cleanup, site investigation, environmental laboratory operations, and sampling and analysis. Provided assistance with conducting hazardous material incident drills and training seminars that included OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER, confined space, and sampling techniques. Participated as a lead on Hazard Communication evaluations at a facility to ensure appropriate classification/communication of chemical hazards to employees. Performed indoor air sampling at several local facilities using personal air monitors, multi-gas meters, and PID/FID detectors. Provided support to other students in performing and researching chemical analysis (e.g., determining Biological Oxygen Demand) in the laboratory.
