Kirby Group Engineering founded in 1964 provides engineering and contracting services across Ireland and Europe. Starting my career as a qualified electrician in 1994 working on major construction sites quickly lead to being promoted within my first year. I then quickly developed through the levels to the role of Project Manager for major and long-term projects. Most of the 12 and half years spent with Kirkby Engineering provided me with experience from managing small projects all the way through to €6.5m budgets for installing electrical systems in major construction sites and developments, such as O2 headquarters building, Gas turbine power station at Poolbeg and mains distribution upgrade for DAA. Experienced in managing all aspects of projects from initial specifications, health and safety to managing 70+ employees on sites. Notable projects were replacement of all electrical power systems to Dublin Airport, €2m project with the added complexity of airport regulation as well as the usual project constraints.
