Marcus A. Guthrie, Sr. is a decorated US Army Combat-Disabled veteran who received an Army Commendation Medal for meritorious service during the Gulf War. He continued his technical education and gained corporate management experience as manager of multiple sites for Pitney Bowes under Hewlett Packard.In the public sector, he worked for CoA Department of Watershed Management in I&E under the Construction Management group. He was responsible for consulting and contract negotiations of Public/Private partnerships to address issues affecting the aging infrastructure of the City of Atlanta Water System.Marcus was elected President of the American Federation of State County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) Local 1644, servicing 3,400 members of the City of Atlanta (COA), Atlanta Public Schools, Grady Hospital, and Department of Corrections as well as 4 other private industry chapters. He is accredited with recruiting 1500 new members, having COA employees recognized as Public Safety on par with Police and Fire, and negotiating an $87,000,000 dollar increase in pension distribution for COA Employees. He was also appointed to the Atlanta Labor Council to garner agreements with business leaders and politicians of the right-to-work state of Georgia.Marcus is the founder of Psynaptic Incorporated, a management/consulting firm focused on economic and community development. He is also a Director of NPOs City of Angels (MS) 501c3, the Foundation for Action and Community Services (FAC Services), and The Guthrie Foundation, a registered NGO located in Cape Town, SA.As Operations Director of ZT Architecture and Investec, his expertise, provides community access, and political influence for community development. This is accomplished through creating business/real-estate development, projects and programs that serve to facilitate expansion and economic growth in targeted communities. Marcus has partnered with The Sierra Leone People’s Party North America GA chapter Young Generational Leader Siadu Bah to create SEFADU Holdings, a financial vehicle to facilitate private sector growth in the least developed nations of West Africa. He is also affiliated with the Fuller Center of the Western Cape, the National Nutritional Support Programme (NNSP) of South Africa, and the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World International (P.A.W.) that represents over 9,300 communities across the world. Through his relationships and expertise, he has created a for-profit/non-profit model that monetizes underperforming assets to create investment opportunities on a global scale.
