In this position I developed a spatial database to store information on New Zealand Stopbank resources using PostGIS and Python. To achieve this goal, I conducted extensive research into international databases and reviewed data standards with reference to those currently in use by regional councils. This position also included the creation of maps to better visualize reliance on stopbank flood protection structures using QGIS. This project was fully funded and supported MBIE.

In this role I assisted in the development of a New Zealand Inventory of Dams (NZID). This position involved two major projects conducted back-to-back as information from the NZID was enhanced with geospatial information. Both of these projects included substantial quality assurance of existing data and helping improve development of a geospatial database for the NZID. All my work on the NZID was fully funded by the ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment

In this position I assisted in the transition from the existing in-house GIS to a more standard ESRI and ArcFM environment. This position included quality assurance of existing data, transcribing information to maintain electrical conductivity and re-drawing complex utilities using ARC map. Also involved were the creation of maps to track progress and provide updates to managers and other executive staff.
