As the Department Chair, I work with the principal and assistant principal to create structures that support all ELA teachers in facilitating high quality instruction. I lead data meetings from student performance on in-class assessments, as well as standardized assessments (specifically ANet). I'm responsible for vertically aligning ELA curricula in grades 5-8, and supporting teachers in implementing that curriculum. Some of that work includes co-planning, observing and non-evaluative feedback, as well as facilitating PD on instructional strategies.

Implements and tracks behavioral interventions.Creates a positive culture for students through incentives, community meetings, and coordinating field trips and outdoor learning experiences.Supports all teachers on the 6th grade team, and collaborates with leadership team for whole school initiatives.

As the Youth Developer at the Green School, I served as a college advisor, mentor, general advisor, case manger, and special events coordinator. Some of the duties included:– Led daily college prep classes with the assistance of guidance counselors and provided college advisement to entire senior class.– Sat on the School Leadership Team, and supported school wide goals and benchmarks as well as helped plan and implement special events, projects and initiatives. – Facilitated advisory classes twice a week with a focus on SEL; and as the advisor, acted as the point of contact with family and school staff.– Met with a caseload of 18 students weekly to provide tiered supports and interventions.– Was part of the Attendance team and was charged with increasing the 12th grade attendance.
