Dan Eldon was born in London, England in 1970. At the age of seven, a family move to Nairobi, Kenya ignited a lifelong fascination with the land and the people of Africa. It was this love that would eventually lead to his death. On July 12th, 1993, Dan, one of the youngest Reuters photojournalists ever, along with three colleagues, was stoned and beaten to death by an angry mob reacting to a UN bombing in Mogadishu, Somalia.
