About Mari Torres

As the DC Bureau Manager for CNN en Español, I am responsible for the production and editorial direction of two news shows, Directo USA and Choque de Opiniones, as well as the coverage of the US political events, such as the presidential elections, debates, and inauguration. I also play a key role in the digital initiative to grow the US Hispanic audience for CNN en Español, leveraging my extensive knowledge of the Latin American and US Hispanic markets.With more than 15 years of experience in the media industry, I have a strong background in broadcast journalism, investigative reporting, and political analysis. I have covered and planned special series and strategic projects for different news departments, as well as collaborated with NBC News and Univision for political content and polls. I have a passion for delivering accurate, engaging, and impactful stories that inform and empower the viewers. I hold a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism and Political Science from Syracuse University, and an M.A. in Political Campaigning from University of Florida.
