During my years as Finance & Admin Manager in the Gambia & Senegal the country program doubled in size and complexity in terms of donors and requirements. I have managed to achieve huge amount as strengthening financial systems, developed financial and HR procedures and processes, defined team roles and responsibilities, donor compliance and financial reports (EU, ECOWAS, ECHO, USAID, SIDA, Forum Syd etc.) I have led the completion of multiple country annual audits and donor specific audits including USAID projects, EU projects. All with almost zero rejected expenditures and remarks, a great achievement given a program of 10-15 projects at once, many donors and over 25 implementing partners.

Overall responsibility for implementation, monitoring and development of the system for general and financial administration. Ensure that Future In Our Hands The Gambia, FIOHTG staff are knowledgeable of and adhere to Forum Syd and SIDA specific regulations. Responsiblity to do the preparation of monthly accounts, filing of financial documents, financial reporting as well as other day to day financial administration tasks.

Save the Children Sweden was under reorganization, and recently became a member of Save the Children International. A reorganization which means that many country offices have closed and finance responsibility are transferred to the Head Office in Stockholm, as well as via Save the Children International. I was working with finance support in the transition process and post transition. Had daily contact with country offices/regional offices and work with their reconciliation to the Head Office. On a monthly basis received, analyzed and processed monthly Financial Reports from Save the Children International and also analyzed and disbursed the monthly Fund Request to country offices/regional offices. Submit financial reports to donors in accordance with the agreements. As Grant Controller I had responsibility to be part of the application/proposal process to donors, analyze and track grants, and financial report back to the donors. Transition Finance /Grant Controller was an interesting job where I had daily contact with the country offices, was the financial support of a major reorganization, and developed new financial systems and procedures.

Overall responsibility for implementation, monitoring, analysing and development of the systems for general and financial administration of the SCC Regional Office for Southern Africa, including the SCC Country Offices in Malawi, Mozambique and Zimbabwe. Responsibility to ensure that all recipients of SCC development funding – partner organisations or otherwise are knowledgeable of and adhere to SCC, SIDA and other donor specific regulations. Accounts and Financial ReportingEnsure that procurements of goods and services for SCC and partner organisations are carried out in accordance with management decisions and SCC procurement guidelines. On a monthly basis receive, analyse and process monthly financial reports from SCC Country Offices, programmes, project and partner organisations. Prepare, analyse and submit the consolidated financial report to SCC Headquarters in Stockholm and submit financial reports to donors in accordance with agreements. Reconciliation of full balance sheets on a monthly basis. Budget Preparation and MonitoringCoordinate and prepare the annual budget for all SCC operations in Southern Africa. Coordinate and prepare periodic budget revisions. Analyse and follow up on budget utilisation and deviations. Provide Regional Management, Programme Coordinators and Country Representatives with a monthly financial report, stipulating budget utilisation, forecast and observations. Regional Team Coordination- Support/Training and Regional Management Team. Coordinate Team Finance, which is comprised of SCC financial staff throughout the region. Identify staff and partner training needs in financial management and control and initiate appropriate training and workshops. As a member of Regional Management Team, actively contribute to the professional management of SCC operations in Southern Africa in accordance with SCC strategy, policy and instructions.
