Assisted team with the launch of a new DeWalt charger.• Learned how to take 120V AC at 60Hz and 230V at 50Hz to output a steady current of 4 amps.• Viewed, edited, and read schematics and layouts in Altium.• Hands on lab experience: made thermocouples along with collected and formatted large amounts of data in Excel, (20 different channels, two consecutive charges, approximately three hours per charge, scanning every ten seconds) while running thermal tests.• Documented testing and had to adjust what I present depending on my audience (engineers, technicians, directors, etc.).• Improved a standardized thermal test setup, after comparing data and noticing an inconstancy in the data from my tests.• Broke down circuits while trouble shooting to help find the root cause of a failure.• Used oscilloscope to closely examined the interfacing between the charger and batteries to show that a voltage spike was not a cause of failure.• Became proficient at soldering and desoldering components on boards to alter circuits for testing.• Learned the importance of an isolated circuit since the charger has exposed DC pins that plug into the batteries. As well as how to safely use an oscilloscope when probing an isolated circuit.
