Systems Administrator, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure
Current• Use VMware vSphere to maintain fully patched/updated/mitigated Operating System image for testing and production, and provide assistance to customers with operations of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) systems. *Optimize system operation and resource utilization, and performs system capacity analysis and planning. *Improve processes by automation through PowerShell and PowerCLI scripting *Apply Windows Server patches and updates * Run ACAS Scans, Analyze results, mitigate findings *Use CentOS Linux-based OS to manage virtual servers*Update firmware and required device profiles installed / deployed to Zero Client devices through Teradici Management Console. *Build new Linux servers using Linux OS through vCenter vSphere. * Maintain the virtual client desktop pools and virtual machines via VMWare Horizon View Administrator for maximum efficiency. Monitor the virtual and physical network to ensure system availability through ESXTOP and PuTTY. *Update/remediate patching of ESXi hosts according to DISA STIGs. *Maintain windows Operating System STIG compliance via SCAP and STIG Viewer tools, verifying/modifying GPO/Group Policies and Registry Keys/values when necessary. *Use vSphere to compile the VDI Operating System image for testing and deployment to the user production environment. *Perform daily system monitoring through Horizon View Administrator and VMware vSphere, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups. * Install new servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements. * Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures and appropriate documentation of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
