I am a mechanical engineer who has been designing drug delivery devices for the medical industry for the last 7 years. My specialist areas include respiratory drug delivery, autoinjectors, verification of in-silico fluid models, the applications of simulation, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics and optics to solve complex challenges and working to ISO 13485. My technical areas of interest include biologic drug delivery devices for respiratory, CNS drug delivery, and parenterals, and I excel at analytical investigations, and translating between simulation and physical testing. I work anywhere within the design process from early to late stage development, and am experienced in design for manufacture and injection moulding.Prior to my work on medical devices, I completed an industrially sponsored PhD and research position in the optical diagnostics of multiphase flows. This included two phase mixing and separation, and assessing and improving sprays for the automotive and medical industries.
