Serving as Executive Director of A+ Academic Coaching is my third career. I spent nine years managing a restaurant that seated over 1,000 people. I then returned to college and completed my B.A. in English at Yale University, followed by my M.A. in Education from Harvard University. I spent 7 years as a high school teacher in Connecticut, but decided to follow my heart to New Mexico to found the tutoring agency I lead today.The educational needs in New Mexico are certainly overwhelming. As a state, we rank 49th in the nation academically. A recent article in the Albuquerque Journal stated that over 87% of New Mexico schools failed to meet minimal national standards. Over the years, I am proud that my staff of 12 tutors and I have been able to make a difference in New Mexico. The success rate at A+ Academic Coaching is over 90%. We work with clients of all ages and abilities. Whether it is helping a first grader to learn to read, supporting a high school student apply to the college of their dreams, or even helping a 61 year old woman apply to law school, we have the expertise to assist.
