About Mark Harris
I am a Technical Program Manager specializing in enterprise-level products and solutions engineering, taking them end-to-end from concept and definition, through development, to launch. A background in firmware and software development, troubleshooting, and team leadership, together with experience in vendor management and customer engagement enables me to prioritize and take actions to realize business outcomes aligned to customer needs. A self-starter and independent action-taker, I am often the "go-to" on my team for subject matter knowledge and my ability to solve complex problems, with success in managing multiple projects concurrently while leading cross-functional teams on a global scale. Frequently recognized for strong written and verbal communication, I am able to present to both technical and non-technical audiences, as well as executive leadership and external partners.Life is about more than just work, though, and personal challenges drive me to continuously learn new skills and improve old ones. As a distance runner, I recognize that results are not always immediate; sometimes it takes years to achieve a goal. When training for mountain and trail races, I have learned to use what I do have (sunny days and freeway overpasses) instead of lamenting what I do not (altitude and elevation changes). With hard work and the proper mindset, it is possible to find success even when others may see the task as impossible. I have also recently picked up curling, which has its own lessons to teach, the importance of clear communications and a soft touch chief among them. I believe that whatever we choose to do in life, it holds valuable learning opportunities and lessons.
Listed skills include Embedded Systems, Linux, C, Storage, and 19 others.
