Key responsibilities:•Install, design, integrate and maintain Wireless Mesh network infrastructure• Preventative maintenance for Mine System equipment on all Mine heavy vehicles; including excavators, surface machines, dozers, graders, dump trucks, road trains, water trucks•Produce Standard Work Instruction and Standard Planned Maintenance Task documentation• Various project works from concept to commissioning • Maintain Service Level Agreements with internal clients

MINEGEM is an underground mining automation system available as an attachment to standard Caterpillar underground mining machines.MINEGEM utilizes Laser Detection and Ranging (LADAR) technology, sensors and cameras for navigation and machine control; a line-of-sight Local Area Radio Network (WiFi) for communications between the Operator Station and the machine; an Area Isolation System to contain the operations of machines within a designated area; and computers to manage the system, provide an interface for Operator control, and for the recording of data.My responsibilities included:- Checking design drawing and diagrams, compiling bills of material, managing fitment and fit for purpose issues.- On-site system installation and commissioning (including site survey, documentation, system SAT, customer training.)- Factory system installation and quarry testing.- System component testing and repairs. (using workshop test system or quarry trials)- System training for dealers and customers.- Help desk support for dealers and customers.- Manufacturing of some system components.- Design and re-design of system components to ensure high level of reliability.

On the 1st of April 2006 the TR Corporation entered into an agreement to purchase the business interests of MineCom Australia.MineCom is the most respected name in Mine and Tunnel Communications worldwide and one of the largest Tait Dealers in Australia.Mines Engineering Manager. I was responsible for 4 full time Engineers and our Mining Manufacturing Group. During my time with MineCom/TR Corp, I have been fortunate enough to travel extensively locally and overseas (including PNG, China, USA, South Africa).My responsibilities included:- Accountability for all mining projects, products and systems.- Head development of both VHF & UHF systems for MSHA (US coal) approval. Achieved December 2008.- Prepare and submit tender submissions. (Including system design, system drawings, and bill of materials.)- Prepare all quotations for the mining group. (Including system design, system drawings, and bill of materials.)- System training for all dealers and customers.- Supervise Mining Engineering Group and Manufacturing Group.- System installation and commission. (Including sourcing parts, system FAT, system SAT, update system drawings.)- Support Mining Sales Group.- In-house training for TR Technicians and Engineers.

I was responsible for 4 full time staff and 2 casual staff.MineCom Australia concentrates on the Mining Industry in communications but is often called to carry out other works not directly relating to communications. MineCom manufacture a range of communications and electronic equipment for mine & tunnelling projects around the world. Our products include Leaky Feeder systems, Personnel & Vehicle Tracking, Wireless Automation, Skip & Shaft Automation, Traffic Control systems and Radio Communication equipment and systems. From asset tracking to CCTV systems and many things in between, MineCom is considered by many “the one stop shop” for the Mining Industry worldwide.MineCom has offices located in Tasmania, Australia and Johannesburg, South Africa with agents located in Russia, Poland, Sweden, UK, Spain, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Peru, Chile, Canada, USA, China, Indonesia and New Zealand.Although I am Workshop Manager, I have still maintained my “hands-on” skills as I am often required to simply get in and help as required. This has also enabled me to travel further, both within Australia and overseas.
