Profile bio

About Mark Convery

I am a team leader with 15 years of professional work with a focus on customer service, administration, and team leadership. My work with Opendoor on their customer experience team encompassed many roles, including individual contributor and manager roles. My time with Opendoor was marked with exceeding sales and service quotas while assisting with developing and leading the growing Dallas-based team. As the team grew, I played a vital role in the interviewing and hiring process, the onboarding, and the continued training. I was promoted to Associate Manager, where I had the opportunity to provide call coaching, handle customer escalations, and advise on work tooling and product advancement. My time with Opendoor has further instilled in me my ability to adapt to the ever-changing dynamics of a start-up as it grew into an established company.Prior I was at Homeward as a Buyback Specialist with my time spent between customer service and finance. Buyback Specialist role, I am responsible for managing the customer’s experience and serving as their primary point of contact during the backend of the transaction. I work closely with agents and external partners to understand their listing plan for their existing home, hold their hand through all the details of preparing to buy the new home, and partner with their lender to ensure they are able to close quickly and confidently. This position has challenged my ability to manage many customer and agent relationships while working cross-functionally with other critical teams. Before Opendoor, I worked in Higher Education across many departments. Here I had to collaborate with departments across the institution to ensure smooth openings. All of my positions in higher education, there was a strong focus on collaborating with university departments to encourage student development and leadership.Throughout all of my positions, I have welcomed the challenges of change, leadership, and exceeding expectations. With a history as an ethical, hardworking, and motivated self-starter, I quickly and easily adapt to new environments. My experience in using leadership to build strong employee relationships, along with a dedicated commitment to customer service and satisfaction, has fueled my focus on consistency and organization, creating a resourceful and efficient workplace.

Listed skills include Student Development, Leadership, Training, Academia, and 27 others.
