Working on the RWD and AWD Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, Challenger and Magnum products I was jointly responsible for tuning all chassis tunable components including suspension (shocks, springs and bushes), sta bars, steering, wheels and tires for ride, handling and steering across the whole group of products. I worked hand in hand with vehicle development, synthesis and chassis release teams to develop and create tuning libraries and then perform intensive tuning studies in ride and handling on the cars through from Mule to final V1 phase of the vehicle development process.

I developed the truck structural durability test in house. The final test Cycle was rolled out at both Chelsea and Arizona with over a million dollars of cost savings. I correlated a Dynamic Handling System test for the Jeep product line-up which had only being performed previously in Europe. I collected data in Graz, Austria, Arizona and Chelsea, with post processing and analysis and the final solution presented to Jeep Senior management for buy-in.I created an extension to a Vehicle Endurance test to enable overflow testing at one of our suppliers. Tasks included build-up of acquisition vehicle, data collection in house and at suppliers’ location. Post processing, analysis and development of a new test at the facility was implemented.I led the proving ground drive to bring efficiency improvements across all body/chassis tests at CPG with savings to date in the region of $1.1 million.

I was awarded a two year assignment with MIRA’s North American subsidiary, at the Chrysler, Chelsea proving ground (CPG), Michigan, in the data acquisition group. My work concentrated around the correlation of body chassis test schedules at two new proving grounds along with final negotiation with the platforms. I oversaw data collection at 3 different grounds on a vehicle instrumented with 193 data channels along with the subsequent post processing and analysis.

I reported to the Road Load Data Head of Section and was responsible for in-vehicle data collection, data analysis and day to day running of various projects. Use of conventional measurement parameters, such as surface strain, component based load cells, accelerations and displacements.
