Mark Cramer's legal, management and consulting career has focused on leading and guiding non-profit, for-profit and governmental organizations at the intersection of the private sector and the government at the local, state and federal level, as well as internationally. Much of his career has centered on logistics, supply chain and transportation, and how public, private and military organizations optimize their missions and effectiveness. He has founded and built a number of successful organizations, as a chief executive and as a senior advisor and counselor. Requiring an interdisciplinary set of skills and knowledge, many of these organizations established ground-breaking approaches to address important and unique challenges.Cramer's consulting practice currently includes service as a Senior Advisor in FTI Consulting’s Supply Chain Global Solutions Practice. Prior to that he served as Executive Director of the Greater Gaston Development Corporation, an organization formed in 2014 to develop and implement a plan of action to increase job growth and the tax base in Gaston County, North Carolina. He also serves as Executive Director of the Piedmont Public Policy Institute which conducts research on topics of concern to the real estate industry such as housing affordability, zoning, regulations and fees, transportation, etc. Prior to that he served as President of the Institute for Defense and Business in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The IDB is a leading provider of customized executive education and degree programs for the U.S. military, other U.S. government agencies, international organizations, non-governmental organizations and private sector companies.He is a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Cramer resides with his wife, Carol, in Sunset Beach, NC, and they have two sons, Ryan and Philip.
