As a structures engineer, I have supported the design and development of some of Boeing’s most recent commercial aircraft (787, 777X, New Airplane Development). My expertise on these programs has primarily been in the design of the wing edges. This structure is notoriously challenging as it is highly loaded, spatially constrained, mechanism driven, and highly cross-functional. As a Graduate Design Intern at LASP, I was given the opportunity work on the NASA funded GOES-R project. I supported the design and manufacture of flight hardware by designing flight parts and creating the fabrication drawings. In addition, I designed numerous Ground Support Equipment (GSE) fixtures for flight hardware. Several fixtures I designed required assembly in a clean room environment, for which I was present and participated in.

As a Mechanical Intern for Plexus, I took on several responsibilities. I wrote protocols for Engineering Confidence Tests (ECT) and carried out the testes on prototype and production level products. I also developed and tested a heat staking procedure to be used on large scale product production of a medical device. In addition, I managed a budget of $25,000 for the purchase of new machine shop equipment.

As a Teaching Assistant for Intro to Mechanical Engineering, I was responsible for teaching students basic skills on the Lathe and Mill. I supervised two lab sections of 20 students in the machine shop and helped them complete a simple project.
