Mark commenced his career as a young soldier in the Australian Army. He rose through the ranks learning the importance of teamwork and planning in an outcome focused culture. In 2000 he joined a leading US Professional Service Organization as their Director of Learning and Education, based in Thailand. It was in this role that he first questioned the difference between corporate words and corporate actions. This became an area of intense interest.In 2003 he launched his own company, Executive Talent Management Australia Pty Ltd to continue his study of management and staff across several leading Australian organizations. The work quickly spread overseas to a number of Asia and Middle East organizations culminating in 2010 when Mark accepted a 4 year full time role as the Head of Learning & Development for the World’s Leading Airline. This four years gave him the opportunity to validate his theories on why cultures say one thing and do another.Mark and a select team relocated to Malaysia in 2014 and established 5Echo Sdn Bhd, where they have used their collective experience to assist clients who are serious about gaining competitive advantage through developing their teams. 5Echo’s work is highly recognized resulting in representative offices being launched in 2015 in the US, UK, Australia and Singapore, with plans for a Hong Kong office in 2016. In 2019, Mark relocated to Shanghai, China to expand his business.Mark’s research thus far into the difference between words and actions has shown similarities across international borders and industries. More and more people are beginning to realize that you can spend millions of dollars on impressive corporate buildings and the latest equipment, although they are of very limited value without good teams to work within or operate them.Mark is now specialising in Outthinking Your Competition, a program designed to assist organisations in gaining competitive advantage through planning.
