I am responsible for the management of assets comprising of LGV’s, Light vehicles, MHE and Plant across numerous locations within the Falkland Islands. Conduct modifications to fleet management policies and procedures as appropriate. Manage the repair and maintenance of vehicles, MHE and Plant and control day to day breakdowns.

I am responsible for managing day-to-day operations of 150 staff in various departments ensuring profitability, logistical support, maintenance, fleet management, and compliance. I can provide sound leadership through communication, motivation, and work ethic and have implemented corrective action on inefficiencies to ensure a safe environment.My main job is to improve productivity through effective processes and procedures. On a regular basis, I liaise and engage with key stakeholders and develop positive rapport with new and current vendors, suppliers, and manufacturers. In addition, I maintain up-to-date knowledge of technical information and fault-finding methods and disseminate information to the appropriate departments. I also mentor junior staff members and provide thorough human resources duties and employ detail-oriented inspection methods while promoting continuous improvement.

Managed the repair and maintenance of more than 3500 vehicles.Controlled the day to day breakdowns and maintenance, generating order numbers from the key 2 system and issuing them to the outsource repair agents.Checking service sheets are completed correctly and signing off invoices so they can be passed for payment. Ensuring that all breakdowns where actioned in a timely manner, arranging road side recovery where required, whilst keeping down time to a minimum and ensuring that the customer is keep up to date. Recharging the customer and negotiating costs with both the customer and suppliers, sourcing factor parts where savings can be made. Managed the companies tyre purchasing and recharging procedure to minimise the monthly spend on tyres, and to invoice the customers for none fair wear and tear ensuring maximum profit for the company.

Monitoring and evaluation of the effectiveness of service delivery methods and procedures; plan, direct, coordinate and review the work plans for fleet staff including assigning work activities and projects; review and evaluate work products, methods and procedures; meet with staff to identify and resolve problems; assume management responsibility for the recommendations of replacement of vehicles and equipment; analyse costs to replace or repair equipment and make recommendations as appropriate; conduct a variety of organisational studies, investigations and operational studies; recommend modifications to fleet management policies and procedures as appropriate.
