Mark Steen is the Vice President of Sustainability and Climate Initiatives at Corning Incorporated, a global Fortune 500 materials science innovator. In this role Steen has led Corning's adoption of Paris-aligned greenhouse gas reduction goals and the development of its Sustainability Report, as well as accelerating climate-related innovation efforts, including adoption of lifecycle assessments and the development of Corning's solar business. Prior to his current role, Steen led strategic special projects for Corning for eight years. Before joining Corning, Steen worked in the financial industry for seven and a half years at Citadel Asset Management and Sanford Bernstein, focusing on both equity and debt instruments, largely in the tech and telecom industries. In addition, he served global tech and telecom clients for four and half years at McKinsey and Company. Steen holds a Ph.D. in physics and nonlinear and complex systems from Duke University.
