Based in Pau, France as part of the Kaombo Project, to provide two identical VLCC converted FPSO’s for use in Angola. Working as part of the Field Operations Project Team with responsibility for providing experience and feedback from an Operational perspective on the practicality of tenderer proposals in relation to Inspection, Integrity and Lifting as well as proposing new technology for the Operational phase in an effort to reduce OPEX. Responsible for advising the Construction element of the Project on topics with an Inspection, lifting or Integrity impact, providing technical feedback to management on the tenderers capabilities on all matters relating to inspection philosophies, risk assessment, material selections, corrosion prevention, cathodic protection, RBI, data management and lifting : handling for the subsea, marine and process facilities. This work has expanded my knowledge in the areas of subsea inspection, lifting equipment, intelligent pigging as well as working within a project team requiring the ability to perform multiple roles.

AKO Technical Authority for all aspects of inspection, corrosion, materials and integrity on the AH001 platform. Main focus being the long term planning of inspection and maintenance duties on the platform with an aim to safely extending the life of the plant for minimum cost. Further duties include the management of the Inspection Team and Fabric Maintenance contracts on the AH001 as well as working with the HSE and the certifying authority. The work revolves around finding the most cost efficient solution to a variety of problems given the short remaining life of the platform. Main achievements include the design and implementing a retrofit of sacrificial anodes within the ballast tanks utilising friction stud welding and the installation of a caisson repair clamp in the base of a leg with heavily restricted access.
