Involved with all aspects of product creation including directing and contributing to activities such as product requirement specifications, design documents, design reviews, vendor management, budgetary planning and tracking, scheduling of resources for projects, risk management of projects, and verification of deliverables of projects. Responsible for technical reviews to ensure key requirement and goals of research and development cycle are met. Responsible for synchronizing engineering activities and deliverables with other business functional areas (marketing, purchasing, manufacturing). Directed system, electrical, mechanical, software and manufacturing teams from the marketing concept stage through production lots.

Responsible for defining capital equipment needed for chemical manufacturing plants. Worked closely with research chemists and chemical engineers in order to define specific equipment and controls needed to enable the business to move chemical products from the lab to the production floor. Worked with manufacturing personnel to commission new production equipment and to train staff on its usage, repair and operation. Responsible for defining the electronic process control hardware and software used in production plants across the US. Duties included acting as technical liaison between R&D and production facilities, developing custom sensor techniques for the production equipment, and developing production process control and monitoring systems using 'C', embedded microcontrollers, and PLCs. Developed custom optical scanning system for quality control of extrusion lines. Optical scanning system removed primary quality defect, the system was so successful it was applied to all 10 production lines. Responsible for defining the hardware and software required for tire production test equipment and quality related data collection equipment. Duties included designing both the hardware and software required for tire uniformity computer simulators, as well as field related R&D on high-speed tire uniformity machines.
