- Support of the Cisco data network.- Cisco ASA/Pix firewall and VPN support- Design and installation of a PCI certified network environment- Design and build a disaster recovery environment.- Design and build a solution to consolidate multiple DMZ environments into a more efficient single DMZ setup - Installation and Configuration of Solarwinds Orion Network Performance Monitor to provide management of incidents, alerting and performance monitoring. - Support of the voice network.

Network consisted of MPLS, Cellstream, and ADSL circuits connecting offices all over Scotland with IT Support offices in Lisbon and Kolkatta. Main offices utilized L3 switch stacks with geographic vlans, smaller offices had 1 L3 core switch with several L2 access level switches. - Maintenance included configuration changes (e.g. IP route changes, addition/removal of Vlans, switchport configuration, addition of TACACS and Netflow configuration), TFTP backups as well as capturing Syslog and SNMP information.- Involvement in Network Related Projects such as: Upgrade of infrastructure to MPLS and L3 access level switching, Installation of Wireless Network, Trial of Cisco WAAS for WAN acceleration, Replacement of RAS with a Cisco VPN solution.- Network design and new installations: - Monitoring and Performance Analysis of the core WAN links using tools such as PRTG, Netflow, and Ethereal. - Troubleshooting issues with the wireless network as well as configurations issues with the Cisco TACACS and VPN Concentrator.- Voice/Data patching for Moves and Changes.

Part time contractor supporting the Auckland office- Cable and patch new network ports for both PC’s and Cisco IP phones. As well as setting up new offices with ports, switches and if necessary ADSL routers.-Provide onsite support to the office because the helpdesk was in Australia. This involved resolving issues that the helpdesk were unable to do remotely and also help out with projects such as installing new servers.- Install new PC’s, printers, IP phones and applications.- Audit network ports, assigned IP Addresses, other general hardware (e.g. PC’s printers, and phones).

- Network troubleshooting and configuration - DHCP and DNS server administration and maintenance.- Data recovery and backup using Tivoli Storage Manager and NT Backup- Citrix Support – investigation and resolution of issues occurring with a Metaframe XP Citrix farm or individual Citrix Servers.- Microsoft Exchange 5.5 server installation and troubleshooting.- Basic SQL Database Administration. - General Windows Server support – installation and troubleshooting of servers running MS Win 2003/2000/NT4.- GSX/ESX VMware server creation and setup.- Blackberry Enterprise Server administration - Provide 2nd/3rd level support to the helpdesk.

- Provide 1st/2nd level support to clients using Windows XP, 2000, and 95.- User Account Administration - using Active Directory- Exchange administration- Citrix Support - Install new clients and setup new ICA connections. Use of the CMC to remove disconnected sessions, diagnose load management problems, and remove servers from the farm.- Server monitoring and problem resolution using Remote Desktop, Dame Ware and the Computer Management console (if possible, otherwise escalation).- Network monitoring and problem investigation covering sites all around NZ.- Basic SAP account administration – resetting passwords and unlocking accounts.
